Meet Marisa, also known by the nickname Mamarisa, an Argentinian YFU volunteer with record numbers in hosting YFU students, volunteers and interns.

Meet the Schweigmann family: in the small town of Spelle in Germany, they have hosted YFU students since 2012.

The Steeles are currently hosting their fourth exchange student, Candice from China.

Well, my story starts many years ago, to be exact around 1993. I had always been interested in finding out more about my German roots on my Mother’s side of the family...

Since we don’t have any natural children, I didn’t think I’d ever be a ‘dad.’

Our eldest daughter Natasha read an article about hosting with YFU in the local newspaper. After requesting more information all family members were excited to welcome an exchange student into our home.

The idea of going on a YFU exchange program came to me because my family and I have hosted polish exchange student Zuza this year.

Hosting a YFU exchange student is a love experience. You have to learn to love a new child. Surprisingly, it’s easy! And they will love you back.
